The monitored senior leaves the living room and proceeds into the hallway. Suddenly, he stumbles and falls down, lying motionless in the hallway for more than 10 minutes. MONSE will assess this situation as an emergency. The hallway is a place where people typically do not stay for a longer time, as it is primarily used for crossing from one room to another. The system automatically sends a notification to a neighbor who lives nearby and also informs the municipality so that they can intervene immediately and help the elderly person. The neighbor may come over to check the situation, or the municipality may send a social worker if necessary. This way, MONSE will ensure that timely help arrives, even if the senior's family is not present.
A similar scenario can also occur when the older person is confined to bed for a long time, and no movement is detected. In this case, MONSE evaluates the absence of movement as suspicious and immediately sends a notification that something may be wrong.
MONSE does not send alerts for every minor change or deviation from the normal pattern, but it does flag behaviors that can pose a serious risk to the elderly person.
This type of monitoring gives municipalities an effective tool to provide care to seniors who lack the direct support of their families. By guaranteeing safety to seniors, MONSE largely contributes to prevention.
